2. Who we are and what this covers
This Privacy Policy explains how Romaji Online (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Romaji Online application and related services (the “Service”).
It should be read with our Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Romaji Online does not require you to upload photos, videos, or biometric data to use core learning features.

6. Permissions
Romaji Online primarily needs network access for optional sync, updates, and store purchases. We do not require camera, microphone, or precise location for core romanization practice. Any optional permission will be requested in-system with a clear purpose.
7. Who receives data
We may share information with:
- Service providers for hosting, analytics, crash reporting, and support — bound to use data only for our instructions;
- Apple and Google for distribution, sign-in, and in-app purchases;
- Advertising partners on free tiers where ads are shown and consent allows;
- Authorities when required by law or to protect users and the Service.
Common platform notices: Apple Privacy Policy, Google Privacy Policy. Use of data from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use where applicable.
8. Advertising and your choices
Free tiers may show ads. You can limit ad tracking in device settings and, where shown, use our in-app consent or privacy options. We do not sell personal information for money.
9. Consent in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland
Where required, we present a consent form (such as Google UMP) before non-essential advertising or analytics SDKs. You can withdraw or change consent later via in-app options where provided, or by clearing app data.
10. International transfers
Information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
11. How long we keep data
We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes above, unless a longer period is required by law. You may request deletion of account-associated data as described below. Local lesson data can usually be cleared by uninstalling or clearing app storage.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
13. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the digital consent age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. Contact us if you believe we have, and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

15. Automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you. Ad and fraud systems operated by partners may use automated logic for ad delivery or invalid-traffic detection.
16. Notice to California residents
California residents may request to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money; advertising technologies may constitute “sharing.” Email support@romajionline.date with “Do Not Sell or Share” to opt out. We honor Global Privacy Control where required and feasible. We will not discriminate against you for exercising CCPA rights.
17. Notice to residents of other US states
Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar access, deletion, correction, and opt-out rights. Contact support@romajionline.date to exercise them.
18. Country-specific information
Mandatory local consumer and privacy protections continue to apply. Nothing in this notice limits non-waivable rights in your country of residence.
